REMINDER: I-10 (Papago Freeway) closures scheduled this weekend (March 21-23)

UPDATED: Loop 101, Loop 202 and I-17 ramp closures also planned

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra travel time and plan to use alternate routes while the following closures are in place for pavement maintenance:

Westbound Closures

  • Westbound I-10 will be closed between 35th and 83rd avenues from 9 p.m. Friday, March 21, to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22. The following ramps also will be closed (UPDATED):
    • The north- and southbound I-17 ramps to westbound I-10 (at the “Stack” interchange).
    • The westbound I-10 on-ramp at 27th Avenue.
    • The northbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) ramp to westbound I-10.

Eastbound Closures

  • Eastbound I-10 will be closed between 83rd and 35th avenues from 9 p.m. Saturday, March 22, to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23. The following ramps also will be closed (UPDATED):
    • The southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10.
    • The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at 91st Avenue.
    • The northbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) ramp to eastbound I-10.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider alternate routes, including using east- or westbound McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to travel around the closure.

ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
