Plan for full lane closures on SR 85 in Buckeye March 5-6

Drivers should expect heavy delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for full lane closures on north- and southbound State Route 85 in Buckeye. 

The following will occur from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

  • Southbound SR 85 between milepost 150 (near Hazen Road) and Baseline Road (milepost 151) will be closed Wednesday, March 5. 
    • Detour: Southbound traffic toward Baseline Road will head west to Turner Road, south to MC 85 and then east to get back on SR 85 southbound.
  • Northbound SR 85 between milepost 150 (near Hazen Road) and Baseline Road (milepost 151) will be closed Thursday, March 6. 
    • Detour: Northbound traffic will head toward MC-85, east to Miller Road, north to Baseline Road, then west to get back on SR 85 northbound.

The Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to replace rails and concrete slabs.

ADOT reminds motorists to plan for heavy delays, proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
