Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for alternating lane restrictions and ramp closures on Interstate 10 in Quartzsite.

The following alternating lane restrictions will occur nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning tonight and ending Friday, Nov. 22, for striping:

  • East- and westbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between Scaddan Wash and Dome Rock Road. Note: Only one direction will be impacted at a time.

The following ramp closure will continue daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 22, for guardrail construction:

  • The eastbound on-ramp at Quartzsite Boulevard will be closed. Detour: Motorists can detour east on Main Street or Kuehn Street to Riggles Avenue to access I-10.

The following westbound lane restrictions will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for erosion and dust control:

  • Westbound I-10 between Scaddan Wash and Dome Rock Road will be reduced to one lane beginning Wednesday, Nov. 20, through Friday, Nov. 22, and then resume Monday, Nov. 25, through Tuesday, Nov. 26.
  • A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.

Drivers should plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.
