Nightly closures and restrictions scheduled for US 60 (Grand Avenue) and 163rd Avenue Nov. 17-27

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for nightly closures and lane restrictions on US 60 (Grand Avenue) and southbound 163rd Avenue to allow crews to work on traffic signal modifications, guardrails and striping.

Grand Avenue (Nov. 17-27)

Nightly lane restrictions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., starting Sunday, Nov. 17, and ending the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 27:

  • Westbound Grand Avenue will be narrowed to one lane between the Loop 303 interchange and 163rd Avenue.
  • Eastbound Grand Avenue will be narrowed to one lane from just west of 163rd Avenue to the Loop 303 interchange.

163rd Avenue (Nov. 17-24)

Nightly lane closures and restrictions (9 p.m to 5 a.m.) from Sunday, Nov. 17, through the morning of Sunday, Nov. 24

  • Southbound 163rd Avenue will be closed south of Grand Avenue.
    • DETOUR: Drivers may consider using Deer Valley Road to access the Santa Fe frontage road.
  • The southbound 163rd left turns will be narrowed to one lane.

NOTE: The intersection will be controlled by officers during signal work hours on Nov. 17-20 nightly.

These are expected to be the last restrictions/closures needed for 2024. The project will resume in late March, 2025.

Visit the project website at azdot.gov/us60-303-upgrades for more information.

Slow down, stay alert and be prepared to merge with caution when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
