State Route 143 closure planned near Sky Harbor Airport this weekend (Nov. 8-11)

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following State Route 143 closures near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for pavement maintenance:

• North- and southbound SR 143 will be closed between Van Buren Street and McDowell Road from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11. The following ramps also will be closed:
  • The eastbound Loop 202 ramp to southbound SR 143 (9 p.m. Friday to noon Saturday)
  • The eastbound Loop 202 ramp to northbound SR 143
  • The southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound Loop 202

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using alternate routes, including 44th or 48th streets.

NOTE: Westbound Loop 202 between Priest Drive and I-10/SR 51 will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10. 

ADOT advises drivers to use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
