Expect I-40 ramp closures at Pinta Road, Navajo Road interchanges east of Holbrook Nov. 4-19

Drivers can use nearby exits as a detour

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for ramp closures along Interstate 40 at Pinta Road (Exit 320) and Navajo Road (Exit 325) over the next two weeks as work continues on the pavement life-extension project on I-40 between Pinta and McCarrell roads.  

Drivers should expect the following restrictions weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

Monday, Nov. 4, and Tuesday, Nov. 5:

  • Westbound I-40 off-ramp will be closed at Pinta Road (Exit 320).  
    • DETOUR: Drivers on westbound I-40 can exit at the Petrified Forest National Park (Exit 311) and then proceed eastbound on I-40 to Pinta Road.

Thursday, Nov. 7, through Wednesday, Nov. 13:

  • Westbound I-40 on- and off-ramps will be closed at Navajo Road (Exit 325). 
    • DETOUR: Drivers on westbound I-40 can exit at Pinta Road (Exit 320) and then proceed eastbound on I-40 to Navajo Road. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers on Navajo Road will need to use eastbound I-40 to exit at McCarrell Road (Exit 330) and then proceed westbound on I-40.

Thursday, Nov. 14, through Tuesday, Nov. 19:

  • Eastbound I-40 on- and off-ramps will be closed at Navajo Road (Exit 325).  
    • DETOUR: Drivers on eastbound I-40 can exit at McCarrell Road (Exit 330) and then proceed westbound on I-40 to Navajo Road. 
    • DETOUR: Drivers on Navajo Road will need to use westbound I-40 to exit at Pinta Road (Exit 320) and then proceed eastbound on I-40.

Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours. No work is anticipated to take place on weekends. Drivers should use caution when approaching and driving through work zones.
