The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises drivers to plan for the following closure this weekend, Oct. 25-28, as work continues on the Loop 101, 75th to I-17 widening project:
WEEKEND CLOSURE
- Westbound Loop 101 will be closed between 19th and 51st avenues starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, and ending at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. The following ramps will also be closed:
- The north- and southbound I-17 ramps to westbound Loop 101
- The westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 7th Street and 7th Avenue

Detour: Drivers can use westbound Union Hills Drive or the westbound frontage road (Beardsley Road). Drivers on I-17 may also use Bell or Deer Valley roads or Union Hills Drive to reach destinations west of I-17.

Note: Side streets will be open to local traffic only. Detouring traffic should not travel into neighborhoods.

UPCOMING CLOSURES
- Northbound I-17 will be closed between Union Hills Drive and Pinnacle Peak Road starting 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, and ending 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4.

ADOT advises drivers to plan ahead, allow extra time and use the designated detour route while closures are in place.
The project is scheduled under the Maricopa Association of Government's (MAG) Regional Freeway Plan and is funded through Prop 400, a countywide half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements approved by voters in 2004.
