Plan for continued lane restrictions on SR 85 in Gila Bend through Oct. 16

Drivers should expect heavy delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for continued lane restrictions along State Route 85 in Gila Bend through Wednesday, Oct. 16, for pavement repairs.

The following lane restrictions will occur weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • North- and southbound SR 85 will be reduced to one lane between Pima Street and milepost 142 (near Riggs Road).
  • A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.
  • Note: Flaggers, a pilot car, and Department of Public Safety personnel will direct motorists between mileposts 121 (near Airport Road) and 123 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Drivers should plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around construction personnel.
