UPDATE: Overnight closures on State Route 87 between Bush Highway and State Route 188 extended to Oct. 4

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for additional overnight closures on State Route 87 through Friday morning, Oct. 4:

Drivers should use caution while the following restrictions are in place:

• Northbound SR 87 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. through Friday morning, Oct. 4, between Bush Highway and the junction with State Route 188 (mileposts 199 - 236).
• Northbound SR 87 will reopen each morning at 8 a.m. but will be narrowed to one lane at milepost 228.
• Flaggers and signage will guide drivers through the work zone.
• Drivers should be prepared to make frequent stops and expect delays while moving through the work zone.
• The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.

The restrictions are needed to complete rock slide repair work along this section of SR 87.
