The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for overnight closures and daytime lane restrictions on State Route 87 beginning Sunday evening, Sept. 29, through Wednesday morning, Oct. 2:
Drivers should use caution while the following restrictions are in place:
- Northbound SR 87 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. beginning Sunday night, Sept. 29, through Wednesday, Oct. 2, between Bush Highway and the junction with State Route 188 (mileposts 199 - 236).
- Northbound SR 87 will reopen each morning at 8 a.m. but will be narrowed to one lane at milepost 228.
- Southbound SR 87 will be narrowed to one lane from 9 p.m. Sunday evening, Sept 29, to 8 a.m. Monday morning, Sept. 30.
- Flaggers and signage will guide drivers through the work zone.
- Drivers should be prepared to make frequent stops and expect delays while moving through the work zone.
- The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
The restrictions are needed to complete rock slide repair work along this section of SR 87.
