Learn about improvements to the Loop 101 and I-10 interchange at Oct. 17 virtual public meeting

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is currently conducting final design for improvements to the Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) and Interstate 10 system interchange in the West Valley. ADOT will hold a virtual public meeting on Oct. 17 to provide information about the project and allow members of the public to provide input. 

The purpose of this project is to enhance regional travel, address existing weaving and safety issues and improve connectivity to support economic development in the area. 

The final design includes the following improvements:

  • A new Direct High Occupancy Vehicle (DHOV) ramp connecting the Loop 101 HOV lanes to the I-10 HOV lanes east of the system interchange
  • A new ramp connection from southbound Loop 101 to 91st Avenue
  • Minor interchange improvements at the following locations:
    • Loop 101/McDowell Road
    • Loop 101/Thomas Road
  • Noise walls where warranted

The project is programmed under the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Regional Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Investment Plan. It is funded through Proposition 400, the dedicated half-cent sales tax in Maricopa County to fund transportation, which was approved by voters in 2004.

Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 - 6 p.m.

The project team will give a brief presentation, followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions or make comments online or by phone.
