The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra time while the following closures are in place for the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway), Loop 101 to Val Vista Drive widening project:
- Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) will be closed between Arizona Avenue and Loop 101 (Price Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23.
- The westbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Gilbert, McQueen, and Cooper roads also will be closed

DETOUR: Motorists traveling west on Loop 202 may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using Pecos or Germann roads.
- The eastbound Loop 202 high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane between Loop 101 and Arizona Avenue will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23. The southbound Loop 101 HOV ramp to eastbound Loop 202 also will be closed.
Upcoming Lane Restrictions (Sep 23-28):
- Westbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes nightly between Dobson and Price roads from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday, Sept. 23, to the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 25.
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between Alma School and McQueen roads from 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Arizona Avenue also will be closed.
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between Arizona Avenue and Cooper Road from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25.
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between McQueen and Cooper roads from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. The eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Cooper Road also will be closed.
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between Cooper and Gilbert roads from 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27. The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Cooper Road also will be closed.
- Eastbound Loop 202 will be narrowed to two lanes between Cooper Road and Gilbert Road from 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. The eastbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Gilbert Road also will be closed.
ADOT urges drivers to plan ahead for detours and travel delays; slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.
