Expect daytime lane restrictions on State Route 64 near the east entrance to Grand Canyon Village Sept. 16-20 for pavement repair

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for daytime lane restrictions on State Route 64 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20:

  • SR 64 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel between the east entrance of Grand Canyon Village and the junction with US 89A (mileposts 269-295).
  • Onsite flaggers and a pilot car will guide drivers through the work zone.
  • Drivers should be prepared to make frequent stops and expect delays while moving through the work zone.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
  • Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours.

The restrictions are needed to complete pavement preservation work along this section of SR 64.
