Expect 24/7 lane restrictions on State Route 89A in Flagstaff beginning Sept. 9 through October

Lane closures needed for city project

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for 24/7 lane restrictions on State Route 89A (known locally as Milton Road) in Flagstaff beginning Monday, Sept. 9, and ending Thursday, Oct. 31.

  • SR 89A/Milton Road will be reduced to two northbound lanes and one southbound lane roughly between Saunders Drive and University Ave. (mileposts 402-403).
  • Drivers should expect delays while moving through the work zone.
  • Signage and message boards will guide drivers through the work zone.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.

The restrictions are needed as part of the city of Flagstaff’s Beulah/University Realignment Project where a pedestrian tunnel is being constructed under SR 89A.
