Northbound I-17 to be closed at Jomax Road this weekend (Sept. 6-9)

Limit delays by staying on the detour route using Jomax Road ramps 

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises drivers to allow extra time and use the designated detour route while the following closures and restrictions are in place.

Weekend Closure (Sept. 6-9)

• Northbound I-17 will be closed at Jomax Road and then narrowed to one lane to Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9. The following ramp also will be closed nightly (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.):
• The northbound I-17 off-ramp at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive
• DETOUR: Drivers will exit northbound I-17 at Jomax Road and reenter I-17 using the Jomax Road on-ramp.
• NOTE: East- and westbound Jomax Road at I-17 will be CLOSED. 
• Southbound I-17 drivers can continue to Happy Valley Road and use northbound 19th Avenue to access Jomax Road.
• Drivers wanting to enter southbound I-17 at Jomax Road will be detoured onto northbound I-17 to access southbound I-17 at Dixileta Drive.
• Drivers may use southbound 19th Avenue or Norterra Parkway to access southbound I-17 at Happy Valley Road to avoid traveling through the closure. 

Weeknight Restrictions (Sept. 4-6)

• Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and State Route 74/Carefree Highway from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5. The following ramps also will be closed:
• The northbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive
• Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive from 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6. The following ramps also will be closed:
• The southbound I-17 on-ramp at State Route 74/Carefree Highway 
• The southbound I-17 off-ramp at Dove Valley Road

Weeknight Restrictions (Sept. 11-13)

• Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and State Route 74/Carefree Highway from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12. The following ramps also will be closed:
• The northbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive
• Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive from 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13. The following ramps also will be closed:
• The southbound I-17 on-ramp at Dove Valley Road
• The southbound I-17 off-ramp at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive

Weekend Closure (Sept. 13-16)

• Southbound I-17 will be closed at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive and then narrowed to one lane to Jomax Road starting 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and ending 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16. The following ramps also will be closed:

• The southbound I-17 on-ramp at Dove Valley Road
• The southbound I-17 on-ramp at State Route 74/Carefree Highway (Friday and Saturday nights only)
• The southbound I-17 off-ramp at Dove Valley Road (Sunday night only)

Weeknight Restrictions (Sept. 18-20)

• Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive from 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19. The following ramps also will be closed:
• The southbound I-17 on-ramps at State Route 74/Carefree Highway and Dove Valley Road
• The southbound I-17 off-ramp at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive

• Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Sonoran Desert Drive/Loop 303 and State Route 74/Carefree Highway from 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20. The following ramps also will be closed:

• The northbound I-17 on-ramp at Loop 303/Sonoran Desert Drive
• The northbound I-17 off-ramp at State Route 74/Carefree Highway

Weekend Restriction (Sept. 20-23)

• Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Sonoran Desert Drive/Loop 303 and State Route 74/Carefree Highway starting 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, and ending 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23.
