The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for a traffic switch at the Coyote Wash Bridge along State Route 87 on Monday, Aug. 12, as the project moves to the next phase of construction.
Drivers will be switched on to the newly built western half of the Coyote Wash Bridge, located between Winslow and Second Mesa (milepost 375), while crews begin to rebuild the eastern half of the bridge. Temporary traffic signals (one for each direction) and concrete barriers will continue to be used to safely move drivers through the work zone.
A 10-foot vehicle width restriction and a reduced speed limit of 35 mph will remain in place while the other half of the bridge is replaced.
The new bridge is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
