Prepare for traffic control changes on SR 287 and SR 79 intersection in Florence beginning June 10

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for traffic control changes at the intersection of State Route 287 and SR 79 in Florence beginning June 10. The traffic changes are scheduled to last approximately two months as crews continue the work on the dual roundabout project in the area. This project is scheduled to be completed late summer 2024. 

Drivers are advised to plan for the following traffic changes: 

• Burger King access will be available at the northwest entrance across from Campbell Avenue and Sunrise Plaza Drive. 
• The primary/main entrance for Burger King closest to Main Street/SR 79 will be closed.
• Traffic flow will be allowed on the roundabout, however only one lane will be open while crews continue working in the area. 

The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph and a vehicle width restriction of 12-feet will be in place.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for 

construction personnel and equipment.
