Overnight closures of Princess Dr/Pima Rd and Loop 101 frontage roads scheduled April 25-26

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following overnight closures and restrictions in north Scottsdale as part of the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway), Princess Drive/Pima Road to Shea Boulevard Improvements.

• Eastbound Princess Drive/Pima Road between Hayden Road and Trailside View and westbound Princess Drive/Pima Road between Loop 101 and Hayden Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 25, to 5 a.m. Friday, April 26, for pavement striping. 
• The north- and southbound Loop 101 frontage roads will also be closed at Princess Drive/Pima Road. The westbound Princess Drive/Pima Road to northbound Loop 101 on-ramp will remain open to traffic.
• NOTE: Access to businesses and local streets will be maintained during the closure. 

 DETOURS:

• EASTBOUND PRINCESS DRIVE/PIMA ROAD: Drivers may consider using northbound Hayden Road to eastbound Thompson Peak Parkway to access Pima Road east of the closure.

• WESTBOUND PRINCESS DRIVE/PIMA ROAD: Drivers may consider using northbound Loop 101 to southbound Hayden Road to access Princess Drive west of the closure.

• NORTHBOUND LOOP 101 FRONTAGE ROAD: Drivers traveling to Pima Road east of Loop 101 may consider using eastbound Bell Road to northbound Thompson Peak Parkway to access northbound Pima Road beyond the closure.

Drivers traveling to Princess Drive west of Loop 101 may consider using westbound Bell Road to northbound Hayden Road to access Princess Drive west of the closure.

• SOUTHBOUND LOOP 101 FRONTAGE ROAD: Drivers traveling to Pima Road east of Loop 101 may consider using northbound Hayden Road to eastbound Thompson Peak Parkway to access Pima Road east of the closure.

Drivers traveling to Princess Drive west of Loop 101 may consider using southbound Hayden Road to access Princess Drive west of the closure. 

Please help us promote highway safety. Speed limits are reduced to 55 miles per hour in work zones for the safety of drivers and workers. Slow down, stay alert and be prepared to merge with caution when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

This work is part of the Loop 101, Princess Dr/Pima Rd to Shea Blvd Improvements project that is adding an additional general-use lane in each direction and making improvements to Loop 101 interchanges between Princess Dr/Pima Rd and Shea Blvd.
