The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on US 93 near the community of Wikieup to expect daytime restrictions to continue along a 10-mile section of the highway.
The paving project is taking place daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays through Thursday, March 7. The following restrictions are currently in place:
- US 93 is intermittently narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between Cedar Mine and Wikieup Hills roads (mileposts 120 to 130).
- Drivers should be prepared to come to a complete stop when approaching and driving through the work zone.
- Flaggers and a pilot car are assisting drivers through the work zone.
- A 16-foot vehicle width restriction is in place and the speed limit is reduced in the work zone.
The project elements include:
- Removing the top layer of the riding surface and replacing it with new pavement.
- Making spot pavement repairs, applying new pavement markings and other related work.
ADOT reminds drivers to be prepared to stop, proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment while construction is underway.
