US 60 striping and signal improvements from Loop 303 to 163rd Ave. now complete

Interim enhancements will improve traffic flow in the area

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed short-term striping and signal improvements to help with traffic flow on Grand Avenue (US 60) between Loop 303 and 163rd Avenue. A planned lane restriction tonight will not be needed.

The recent improvements include:

  • Adding a third westbound lane on Grand Avenue from Loop 303 to 163rd Avenue, connecting to a new right turn lane to northbound 163rd Avenue
  • Creating a second right turn lane from westbound Grand Avenue to 163rd Avenue
  • Installing new right turn green arrow signals to allow right turns onto northbound 163rd Avenue while southbound 163rd Avenue traffic is turning left onto eastbound Grand Avenue.

ADOT crews have been on site in recent days to make adjustments to the signal timing.

We appreciate your patience while we completed these improvements.

Additional improvements are planned in this location beginning in the summer of 2024. Visit the project website at azdot.gov/us60-303-upgrades for more information.
