Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) overnight lane restrictions and ramp closures in Mesa continue

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to continue to plan for lane restrictions and ramp closures on Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway), between US 60 (Superstition Freeway) and Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) in Mesa, for pavement maintenance:

  • Eastbound/southbound Loop 202, between Loop 101 and US 60 will be narrowed to two lanes from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Sundays through Thursdays, through Dec. 15. Restrictions will not be scheduled over the extended Thanksgiving weekend.
  • Westbound Loop 202 ramps to north- and southbound Loop 101 and the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Dobson Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21. DETOUR: Drivers can use Alma School Road to westbound McKellips Road or University Drive to access Loop 101.

Note: Each night’s work is scheduled to be done in three-mile increments. On- and off-ramps will be closed while crews are working in the area. Work will take place Sunday through Thursday nights only and will not be scheduled on holidays.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around maintenance personnel and equipment in all work zones.
