Expect daytime restrictions on I-40 between Joseph City and Holbrook Oct. 16-20 as pavement life-extension project nears completion

Drivers should expect delays through the area

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for delays along Interstate 40 between Joseph City and Holbrook from Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20.

The following restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • I-40 will have intermittent lane closures in each direction between Joseph City and Perkins Valley Road (mileposts 278 - 283).
  • Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge over when approaching and traveling through the work zone.
  • A 16-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • Restrictions will be lifted after work hours each day.

The restrictions are in place so crews can finish some minor work items as the five-mile-long pavement project nears completion.
