The Arizona Department of Transportation advises area drivers and businesses to plan for daytime lane restrictions on State Route 89A in Cottonwood beginning Monday, July 31, through Jan. 2024, for a highway improvement project.
Drivers should allow for extra travel time while the following daytime restrictions are in place Mondays through Fridays from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.:
- SR 89A in Cottonwood will be intermittently narrowed to one lane in each direction between Cottonwood Street and the Verde River bridge (mileposts 353 - 356).
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
- Drivers should be careful when approaching and driving through the work zone.
- No work is anticipated to take place on the weekend.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Businesses along this stretch of SR 89A will remain accessible while the restrictions are in place.
The restriction is needed so crews can safely complete pavement, sidewalk, gutter and other improvements along this stretch of SR 89A.
