Northbound I-17 between Northern Avenue and Greenway Road is scheduled to be closed May 5-8

Nightly lane restrictions and ramp closures also planned May 3-5

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following weekend closure along Interstate 17 in Phoenix for pavement resurfacing:

  • Northbound I-17 will be closed between Northern Avenue and Greenway Road from 9 p.m. Friday, May 5, to 5 a.m. Monday, May 8. The following ramps will also be closed:
    • The northbound I-17 on-ramps at Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue

DETOUR: Motorists may consider exiting ahead of the closure and using 19th and 35th avenues to connect with I-17 beyond the closure. 

Nightly Lane Restrictions and Ramp Closures May 3-5

Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to two lanes nightly between Peoria Avenue to Thunderbird Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m, beginning Wednesday, May 3, through the morning of Friday, May 5. The following ramps also will be closed during these times:

  • The northbound I-17 on-ramps at Peoria Avenue and Cactus Road
  • The northbound I-17 off-ramps at Cactus and Thunderbird roads

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway.
