Construction resumes on Interstate 40 East Seligman Bridges May 1

Drivers should use caution and allow extra travel time

After a winter hiatus, the Arizona Department of Transportation will resume construction on Monday, May 1, to replace the east- and westbound East Seligman Bridge decks (exit 123) on Interstate 40 near Seligman in Yavapai County.

Drivers should plan for the following weekday lane restrictions on the I-40B crossroad underneath the I-40 East Seligman Bridges (exit 123) beginning at 5 a.m. Monday, May 1, through the project completion in fall 2023:

  • I-40
    •  Traffic narrowed to one lane in each direction.
    • Crossover detours will be in place.
    • A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
    • The speed limit will be reduced.
  • B-40
    •  on-site flaggers will direct drivers through the work zone.

Detour:  I-40B drivers can use the West Seligman Exit 121 to access I-40, Seligman and Historic Route 66.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around personnel and equipment. For more information, visit azdot.gov/I40EastSeligman.
