Plan for lane restrictions on Cornville Road in Verde Valley as shoulder widening project begins May 1

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising Cornville area drivers to plan for lane restrictions on Cornville Road (County Road 30) between Beaverhead Flat Road and Ravenroost Road beginning May 1.

Drivers should allow for extra travel time while the following daytime restrictions are in place from 8:30 a.m.. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays:

  • Cornville Road will be reduced to one lane only with alternating east- and westbound travel between Beaverhead Flag and Ravenroost Road (mileposts 6-8).
  • Flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
  • Restrictions will be lifted after each work day.
  • Drivers should be prepared to stop and proceed through the work zones with caution.

The primary purpose of the project is to widen the existing shoulders along this stretch of Cornville Road, in addition to stormwater control and weed treatments. The work is anticipated to continue through October. Crews will briefly move operations to phase two of the project in June between Tissaw Road and Chick Road to complete installation of rumble strips on the roadway.
