Update: Westbound US 60 weekend closure planned between Loop 202 and Superstition Springs Boulevard March 24-27

Nightly lane restrictions beginning March 22 through the weekend are also planned. 

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following closure on US 60 (Superstition Freeway) in Mesa for pavement rehabilitation beginning Friday, March 24.

  • UPDATED: Westbound US 60 between Loop 202 and Superstition Springs Boulevard will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, March 24, through 5 a.m. Monday, March 27. The following ramps also will be closed:
    •  The Loop 202 ramps to westbound US 60 
    •  The westbound US 60 on-ramp at Ellsworth Road
  • NEW: Westbound US 60 between Dobson Road and McClintock Drive will be restricted to two lanes from 9 p.m. Friday, March 24, through 5 a.m. Monday, March 27. The following ramps also will be closed:
    • The Loop 101 ramps to westbound US 60

Nightly lane restrictions March 22 and 23:

  • UPDATED: Eastbound US 60 between Stapley Drive and Greenfield Road will have nightly lane restrictions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, March 22, through the morning of Friday, March 24.

Detours: Drivers can consider using Southern Avenue or Broadway Road to connect with their destinations to the north of US 60 and Baseline or Guadalupe roads south of US 60. 

Upcoming Closures:

  • Eastbound US 60 between Gilbert and Higley roads will have nightly lane restrictions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Wednesday, March 29, through the morning of Friday, March 31.
  • Westbound US 60 between Loop 202 and Greenfield Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, March 31, through 5 a.m. Monday, April 3. 

The pavement improvement work along 14 miles of US 60 will occur over several months and will require numerous closures. We will continue to provide updates as the work progresses. ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway.
