Plan for lane restriction on westbound US 60 near Gold Canyon beginning Jan. 9

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for a westbound lane restriction on US 60 near Gold Canyon beginning Monday, Jan. 9, as work progresses on the US 60 Sand Tanks Wash Bridge project. Here’s what to expect:

  • Westbound US 60 will be reduced from two lanes to one lane near El Camino Viejo (milepost 209) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays through Wednesday, Jan. 18.
  • Beginning Thursday, Jan. 19, a concrete barrier will be in place to reduce westbound US 60 to one lane until project work is complete (anticipated April 2023).
  • A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
  • Speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.

Motorists should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
