Plan for lane restriction on westbound US 60 near Gold Canyon beginning Jan. 9

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for a westbound lane restriction on US 60 near Gold Canyon beginning Monday, Jan. 9, as work progresses on the US 60 Sand Tanks Wash Bridge project. Here’s what to expect:

Westbound US 60 will be reduced from two lanes to one lane near El Camino Viejo (milepost 209) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Fridays through Wednesday, Jan. 18. Beginning Thursday, Jan. 19, a concrete barrier will be in place to reduce westbound US 60 to one lane until project work is complete (anticipated April 2023). A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. Speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph. Motorists should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
