Lane and ramp closures will impact travel on State Route 143 and Interstate 10 this week (Jan. 3-8, 2023)


Please note: Schedules can quickly change because of weather and other unforeseen situations. Allow extra travel time and plan to use detours this week, as bridge work progresses in conjunction with the  I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. Here’s what to expect:

 

Traffic restrictions map

1. The southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, for paving work. Use the southbound SR 143 off-ramp at University Drive and travel west on University Drive to 32nd Street to access westbound I-10. See a detour map here or scroll down.

2. East- and westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes at 48th Street from 3 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, to 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, for bridge work. Please slow down and prepare to merge safely into the open travel lanes.

3. The westbound US 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10 will be closed from 3 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, to 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, for bridge work.
