Plan for Interstate 10 ramp closures along Houghton, Valencia roads, and Sixth Avenue, Saturday Nov. 19 during El Tour de Tucson

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time.

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for ramp closures along Interstate 10 in Tucson Saturday, Nov. 19, for El Tour de Tucson. Message boards will alert drivers to the closures.  

I-10 and Valencia from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm: The I-10 eastbound off-ramp (Exit 267) will be closed. Consider using alternate exits including Alvernon Way (Exit 265) or Wilmot Road (Exit 269). 

I-10 and Sixth Avenue from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm: The I-10 eastbound off-ramp (Exit 261) will be closed. Consider using Park Avenue (Exit 262) as an alternate route. 

I-10 and Houghton (Exit 275) starting at 8:00 am:

  • The I-10 eastbound off-ramp will be closed.
  • The I-10 westbound off-ramp will be open with left turns restricted (as southbound Houghton Road will be closed from Mary Ann Cleveland Way to Sahuarita Road).
  • The I-10 eastbound and westbound on-ramps from southbound Houghton Road will be closed (as southbound Houghton Road will be closed from Mary Ann Cleveland Way to Sahuarita Road).
  • Northbound Houghton Road will be closed between the I-10 eastbound and westbound ramps (northbound Houghton Road traffic will be detoured on eastbound I-10 to Wentworth Road and back to Houghton Road via westbound I-10).
  • The I-10 westbound on-ramp from northbound Houghton Road will be closed (as northbound Houghton Road will be closed between the I-10 eastbound and westbound ramps).
  • The I-10 eastbound on-ramp from northbound Houghton Road will be open (and all northbound Houghton Traffic will be diverted onto it as described above).

Consider using alternate routes including Wentworth/Colossal Cave (Exit 279) or Rita Road (Exit 273).

Please use caution and make way for cyclists.
