Expect daytime closures of SR 51 off-ramps at Northern Avenue beginning Aug. 27

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for north- and southbound State Route 51 off-ramps at Northern Avenue to be closed on the following dates for city of Phoenix pavement improvement work:

  • 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27
  • Daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 and Wednesday, Aug. 31
  • Daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Thursday, Sept. 8

Lane restrictions also are planned along Northern Avenue near SR 51.

Access to on-ramps will remain open.

DETOUR: Drivers may consider using the SR 51 off-ramp at Glendale Avenue and using 16th Street to reach Northern Avenue.

Scheduling for this city of Phoenix project is subject to change due to weather or other factors.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around maintenance personnel and equipment while work is underway.
