SUBJECT: TITLE AND REGISTRATION APPLICATION FORM #96-0236 UPDATE
Due to legislative changes, the Motor Vehicle Division will issue a new vehicle license tax and registration exemption for honorably discharged veterans who have been awarded a Purple Heart Medal.
These changes require the MVD to make updates to the Title and Registration Application form #96-0236. The Purple Heart exemption will be added to the back of the application and formatting changes have been made to the front. The new exemption and verison of the Title and Registration Application will be effective September 24, 2022. MVD will provide the new version of the Title and Registration Application to the motor vehicle dealers on September 1, 2022 to allow for the preparation of its use beginning on September 24, 2022. The new version of the application should not be used prior to September 24, 2022.
