The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for intermittent daytime lane restrictions on State Route 73 on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation Monday, July 25, to Wednesday, Aug. 3.
Drivers should allow for extra travel time while the following restrictions are in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
- SR 73 will be narrowed intermittently to only lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between the junction with US 60 and Rim Tank (mileposts 310-324).
- 10-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place.
- Flaggers will be present to guide traffic through the work zone.
- Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours and during the weekend.
- Speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
The restrictions are needed so crews can safely complete pavement repairs along this stretch of SR 73 that will help extend the pavement life of the roadway.
