Drivers who use the Interstate 10 and Miller Road interchange in Buckeye will need to use detour routes for several weeks starting Monday, July 11, as work continues on the I-10: SR 85 to Verrado Way Improvements project.
Miller Road will be closed underneath the I-10 overpass, beginning 5 a.m. Monday, July 11, through late August.
Detour information:
- DETOUR TO SOUTHBOUND MILLER ROAD: Drivers traveling westbound on I-10 can exit at SR 85, proceed south to turn around at Broadway Road and then travel eastbound on I-10 and exit at Miller Road.
- DETOUR TO NORTHBOUND MILLER ROAD: Drivers traveling eastbound on I-10 can exit at Watson Road and then proceed westbound on I-10 and exit at Miller Road.
In the weekend leading up to the full closure of Miller Road, the following restrictions will be in place:
-
Westbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between Miller and Watson roads from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9.
- Miller Road will be reduced to one lane with flagging operations between Durango Street and Tonopah Highway from 9 p.m. Sunday, July 10, to 5 a.m. Monday, July 11.
Drivers should allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through highway work zones.
ADOT's I-10: SR 85 to Verrado Way Improvements project will add a third lane in each direction between Verrado Way and SR 85 and also reconstruct the freeway interchanges at Watson and Miller roads. These improvements will increase freeway capacity, improve traffic flow and safety at the interchanges and accommodate future growth in the city of Buckeye.
The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2023. For more information, visit the project web page: https://azdot.gov/projects/central-district-projects/i-10-sr85-verrado-way-improvements.
