The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for full overnight closures of Interstate 40 at Anvil Rock Road as work continues on the Anvil Rock Road Bridge rehabilitation project.
The full closure of I-40, approximately 11 miles west of Seligman, will occur overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Wednesday night, June 15, and ending Friday morning, June 17.
- East- and westbound I-40 will be closed in each direction at Anvil Rock Road to allow for the demolition of the Anvil Rock Bridge over I-40.
-
Motorists will use the Anvil Rock Road off- and on-ramps to exit and re-enter the interstate. The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
The $2.7 million project includes the removal and replacement of the existing bridge deck, which is the top surface of the bridge that motorists drive on, as well as the approach slabs, guardrail and pavement markings.
