Alternating lane restrictions scheduled on State Route 72 near Bouse beginning May 28

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on State Route 72 near Bouse beginning 6 a.m., Saturday, May 28. 

Maintenance crews are scheduled to apply oil-based sealant to preserve the road . 

The following restrictions will occur from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4. 

  • SR 72 will be reduced to one lane between Joshua Drive and Junction 60 (milepost 49.9).
  • Flaggers and a pilot truck will direct motorists through the work zone. 
  • A 16-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. 
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph.

Delays are likely, so travelers should allow extra travel time. Drivers should obey posted signs, speed limits and traffic control devices and use caution around construction personnel.
