US 60 & State Route 260 pavement preservation projects in Show Low restarting April 10

Plan for overnight delays

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that work is restarting on pavement preservation projects on US 60 and State Route 260 in the Show Low area beginning April 10.

ADOT reminds drivers to proceed through the work zones with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment while the following overnight restrictions are in place:

  • US 60 (mileposts 336 to 342): Intermittent east- and westbound lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday evenings and continuing through Friday mornings.
  • SR 260 (mileposts 342 to 347): Intermittent east- and westbound lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday evenings and continuing through Friday mornings.
  • One travel lane will remain open in each direction while the overnight work is taking place.
  • Motorists should be prepared for delays of up to 20 minutes.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zones.

Lane restrictions will not be in place during daytime hours or weekends, and business access will be maintained at all times during construction.

The projects, which are being constructed at the same time, include removing the existing pavement and replacing it with new asphalt. Other work includes installing new guardrail, curb and gutter and sidewalks.

The projects are scheduled to be completed late fall 2022. The US 60 and SR 260 serve as major corridors in Show Low and the surrounding areas and are some of the most-traveled corridors in the White Mountains region.
