Overnight construction on Stockton Hill Road safety project scheduled to resume Feb. 7

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in coordination with the city of Kingman, advises drivers to plan for overnight lane restrictions on Stockton Hill Road at Sycamore Avenue and Hospital Drive as work resumes on the safety project.

The following overnight restrictions will be in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning Monday, Feb. 7, through Friday morning, Feb. 18:

  • Stockton Hill Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Sycamore Avenue and Hospital Drive.
  • The speed limit will be reduced in the work zones.
  • Expect delays in the work zones.

The project will enhance driver and pedestrian safety in a 1.2-mile section of the city’s busy retail, commercial and medical corridor.

Work includes:

  • Installing advanced street-name signs.
  • Installing speed feedback signs.
  • Installing protected and permissive left-turn arrows.
  • Upgrading the reflective borders on the traffic signals.
  • Upgrading existing pavement markings.

The final lane striping and paving is scheduled to be completed in early spring. ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around personnel and equipment.
