Daytime lane restrictions on Interstate 17 north of Cordes Junction continue Jan. 18 - 27

Drivers should use caution and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for alternate lane restrictions on northbound I-17 north of Cordes Junction.

The following restrictions will occur weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, through Thursday, Jan. 27:

  • Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Orme/Dugas Road and the junction with State Route 169 (mileposts 266-278).
  • The speed will be reduced to 55 mph through the work zone.
  • No weekend work will be scheduled.

The closures are needed for maintenance crews to apply a crack-seal treatment to the roadway, which protects and extends the life of the pavement.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around personnel and equipment while pavement repairs are underway.
