The Town of Sahuarita recently received funding from the ADOT Planning Assistance for Rural Areas program for an El Toro Road Corridor Study. The study will evaluate the need for and feasibility of a new corridor located within a two-mile radius of the current El Toro Road alignment and will focus on identifying new connections to major regional roadways. The new corridor would be multimodal and the study will include recommendations for bicycle, pedestrian and vehicle traffic as well. The study began in late August 2011 and is expected to be completed by early 2013.
