Eastbound Interstate 10 in central Phoenix closed Friday night (June 11) for the Deck Park Tunnel lighting installation

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who travel through central Phoenix on Interstate 10 to plan ahead to use alternate routes at night and in the early morning hours this weekend while sections of the freeway are closed for the Deck Park Tunnel LED lighting installation. ADOT advises drivers to allow extra travel time while the following closures are in place:

  • Eastbound I-10 will be closed between the I-10/I-17 “Stack” interchange and Seventh Street from 9 p.m. Friday, June 11, to 9 a.m. Saturday, June 12. Detour: Eastbound I-10 traffic can detour to southbound I-17 at the “Stack” and reconnect with I-10 at the I-17 “Split” interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Seventh Street will remain open.
  • North- and southbound I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the “Stack” interchange will also be closed. Detour: Drivers who normally use those ramps should consider alternate routes, including eastbound Van Buren Street or McDowell Road to Seventh Street to access eastbound I-10.
  • The eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 19th and Seventh avenues and the 3rd Street HOV on-ramp will also be closed. Detour: Drivers who normally use those ramps should consider alternate routes, including eastbound Van Buren Street or McDowell Road to Seventh Street to access eastbound I-10.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway.
