The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for daytime travel restrictions this week at Interstate 40 and Townsend-Winona Road, about 14 miles east of Flagstaff, as guard-rail replacement and road repairs are performed.
Drivers should slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel while the following restrictions are in place from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 20, and from 5 a.m. to noon Friday, May 21:
- Westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane.
- A 16-foot vehicle width limit will be in place.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
- I-40 on- and off-ramps at Townsend-Winona Road will remain open.
- From 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Friday, June 11, an 11-foot vehicle width limit will be in place on the ramps.
