Motorists east of downtown Tucson should expect a traffic switch on the north side of the Interstate 10/Houghton Road interchange overnight Monday, May 3.
Crews will move the traffic signals to a new location farther north of the interchange. In addition, the entrance ramp to westbound I-10 will be shifted to a temporary location north of the existing on-ramp.
Intermittent delays and ramp closures are possible while the transition is underway between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
As a result of the shift, motorists exiting westbound I-10 will be required to merge north onto Houghton Road. No left turns will be allowed at the top of the exit ramp.

The recommended detour will take motorists to the Rita Road exit and eastbound I-10 to Houghton Road.
The turn restriction will remain in place until the new bridge is opened and ramp connections can be constructed.
|
Motorists should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
