Weekend delays are possible on Interstate 10 in the “Broadway Curve” as Arizona Department of Transportation crews prepare for the start of construction on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
Drivers should slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction personnel and equipment while the following restriction is in place:
- Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes (left two lanes closed) for pre-construction survey work between 48th Street and Southern Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday, April 23, to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 24, and again from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 25.
ADOT anticipates construction will begin this summer or fall on 11 miles of I-10 between Loop 202 (Santan/South Mountain Freeway) and Interstate 17, with most work occurring in the “Broadway Curve” between Baseline Road and 40th Street. Learn more about the project and its benefits to the metro-Phoenix region here.
This map illustrates the many improvements ADOT will make on I-10, including widening the interstate, reconstructing interchanges and bridges and building Collector-Distributor roads to separate local traffic from through-traffic in the Broadway Curve area.
