Planned daytime restrictions along eastbound Interstate 10 south of Chandler have been rescheduled for the week of March 1-5, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should plan on adding extra time for eastbound I-10 travel between Phoenix and Tucson due to maintenance work taking place at the Gila River bridge south of Chandler.
Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane at the Gila River bridge, east of Riggs Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 1, through Friday, March 5, while crews repair a concrete barrier wall.
Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, by calling 511 and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT. When a freeway closure or other major traffic event occurs, the free app for ADOT Alerts, available at ADOTAlerts.com, will send critical information directly to app users in affected areas – where possible, in advance of alternate routes.
