The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for restrictions on Interstate 40 at the Meteor Crater Road traffic interchange, about 30 miles east of Flagstaff, over the next two weeks as work continues on the Meteor Crater Bridge rehabilitation project.
The following restrictions will be in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
- Tuesday, Feb. 23: Eastbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane near the Meteor Crater Road traffic interchange.
- Wednesday, Feb. 24: East- and westbound I-40 will be narrowed to one lane near the Meteor Crater Road traffic interchange.
- Thursday, Feb. 25: East- and westbound I-40 will be closed at Meteor Crater Road.

Detour: Drivers will use the on- and off-ramps at the I-40/Meteor Crater Road interchange to exit and re-enter the highway.
- Thursday, Feb. 25: Meteor Crater Road will be closed between the I-40 on- and off-ramps.

Detour from westbound I-40 to southbound Meteor Crater Road: Exit at Two Guns Road and then re-enter the highway traveling eastbound and exit at Meteor Crater Road.

Detour from northbound Meteor Crater Road to westbound I-40: Drive eastbound on I-40 and exit at Meteor City Road. Re-enter the highway and proceed westbound on I-40.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph.
- A flagger will be stationed on Meteor Crater Road for northbound traffic.
- There will be a 16-foot vehicle width limit through the construction zone on I-40.
The following week-long restrictions will be in place from 6 a.m. Monday, March 1, through 6 p.m. Friday, March 5:
- East- and westbound I-40 will be closed at Meteor Crater Road.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway.
