Alternating lane closures scheduled on State Route 83 between Elgin and Sonoita beginning Oct. 19

Drivers should expect delays and allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on State Route 83 between Camby Lane (milepost 24) in Elgin and Santa Rita Road (milepost 34) in Sonoita.

Alternating lane closures are planned as crews perform a crack seal beginning Monday, Oct. 19, through Friday, Oct. 30. The work will occur weekdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

One lane will remain open at all times and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone.
