Overnight I-17 lane restrictions between Happy Valley and Pinnacle Peak roads continue for interchange construction

Drivers who use Interstate 17 in north Phoenix should slow down in the construction zone and use caution while the following restrictions are in place. 

Closures and restrictions through Aug. 28

Interstate 17 from Pinnacle Peak to Happy Valley roads:

  • Northbound I-17 will be restricted to one lane nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) through Thursday (Aug. 27) nights.
  • Southbound I-17 will be restricted to one lane nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) through Thursday (Aug. 27) nights.

Ramp closures and restrictions:

Through early October 2020

  • The northbound I-17 on-ramp and the southbound I-17 off-ramp at Happy Valley Road is closed.  
  • The southbound frontage road is closed between Jomax and Happy Valley roads, and the northbound frontage road is closed between Happy Valley Road and Agave. 
  • DETOUR: Traffic can use the Jomax Road interchange for I-17 access via 19th Avenue.
