Plan for daytime lane restrictions on State Route 260 in Heber-Overgaard through mid-July

Allow extra travel time

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers in the Mogollon Rim area that east- and westbound State Route 260 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between mileposts 303 - 310 as work continues on the SR 260 Heber-Overgaard project.

The restrictions, which will be in place on both sides of the junction with State Route 277   (milepost 303 to 310) in the community of Heber-Overgaard, are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Monday, June 3 to Friday, June 5
  • Monday, June 8 to Friday, June 12
  • Monday, June 22 to Friday, June 26
  • Monday, June 29 to Tuesday, June 30
  • Monday, July 6 to Friday, July 10
  • Monday, July 13 to Thursday, July 16

Traffic flaggers and a pilot vehicle will be used to stop and guide motorists through the road construction zone.

Drivers should plan for intermittent stops and delays as crews apply the final chip and slurry seal coatings to the roadway. The pavement preservation project will help preserve the condition of the highway and extend the life of the asphalt.

ADOT reminds drivers to slow down in work zones and use caution around construction personnel and equipment.

With state highways essential to delivering goods and services, ADOT, its employees and its contractor partners are dedicated to delivering transportation improvement projects during the current public health situation. To learn more, please visit azdot.gov/covid-19-resource-center.
