The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for ramp closures and lane restrictions in both directions of Interstate 10 (Papago Freeway) in the Avondale area from 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, to 5 a.m. Sunday, April 19. I-10 is scheduled to be narrowed to three lanes between Dysart Road and Avondale Boulevard for resurfacing, lighting and sign installation.
Ramp closures are scheduled to occur sequentially as listed below:
- The westbound I-10 on-ramp at Avondale Boulevard will be closed. DETOUR: Drivers can use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to access westbound I-10 at Dysart Road.
- The westbound I-10 off-ramp at Dysart Road will be closed. DETOUR: Drivers can use Litchfield Road to McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to access westbound I-10 at Dysart Road.
- The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Dysart Road will be closed. DETOUR: Drivers can use McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to access eastbound I-10 at Avondale Boulevard.
- The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Avondale Boulevard will be closed. DETOUR: Drivers can use 107th Avenue to McDowell Road or Van Buren Street to access eastbound I-10 at Avondale Boulevard.
*The schedule may be adjusted as work progresses.
